Home originally built through Henry Walker Homes, the original people were great to work with, later Oakwood Homes purchased Henry Walker Homes for 75 Million during our warranty period. This was fine as we delt with the same people. We were asked to keep certain warranty requests until the last month of the one year warranty, this includes paint, house settling cracks and through henry walker/oakwood, the flooring which is horrible in many places. We did so, then Oakwood homes transferred warranty requests from homes build before april 2014 by Henry Walker Homes to Jack Fisher Homes. Jack Fisher is run by some of the same people as Henry Walker Homes, but the people that do the daily interacting changed.

My request to have them fix my flooring as it creeked, squeeked and in some cases sounded like the inside of my wall was breaking was denied. Their employee Shay stopped by to go over what i'd already gone over previous with Oakwood, he was prepped and had a limited warranty highlighted to tell me this wasn't going to happen. I repeated what i was told before, he then said they will fix where they didnt have to pull carpet back. I got a call from the design center who through Oakwood was going to pull up the carpet and laminate flooring, we scheduled a date twoish weeks later.

Time was taken off work for this, i call the day before and the woman i spoke with stated she contacted Shay 2 times through email to sync up the trades with their flooring people that were going to pull back the carpets... but no response. She offers to contact him by phone and call back. She calls back hours later and tells me they aren't doing it anymore, i call Shay and ask what the hell is going on after getting the ok from Oakwood with a comment at that time of "I wouldn't spend this much money on a house and have my floors sound like this", He even found spots i didnt know made loud sounds. Back to Shay, be told me that his boss was trying a new device that im guessing drove a screw through and under the carpet, details were foggy. He said he would contact me the next week, he did not. I emailed him to ask to speak to his boss who is making the decisions, nothing. Today, about a month later I get a letter from Jack Fisher Homes, from his boss Dan Ross telling me that it will not be covered.

All requests were requested before the one year warranty expired. I kept the ones they asked till the last month. They did not honor the request even though before Jack Fisher took over the design center was on board and was opening up the floor for them. I still have the voice mail explicitly detailing the work to be done prior to the change to Jack Fisher.

Thats my story, i can't speak for their work in Colorado, but beware of a company that not only goes back on previously agreed to work, but doesn't communicate with their partners (the design center) after two weeks. What kind of service and quality do you expect when the easy stuff is hard.

On a side note, talked to some people at work, Candle Light homes In draper had no problem backing their floor work For a house built in 2013, same with a buddy that bought from Perry Homes and my sisters friend building with Castle Creek in the development behind me.

I'll be more then fair and consider it may be the mood of the employees you interact with or the angle of the sun, no idea... But if you say you're going to do something, you probably should as a business. I don't control the switching of hands these companies went through. I would not suggest building with anyone that doesn't honor commitments, whether through a business transaction or explicitly states.
